Continuum I

Continuum I explores the continuity of sound driven by similarity and contrast in timbres between two instruments. Sometimes this continuity of sound is propelled by the imitation of similar timbres, and other times by the contrast between the timbre of cello and guitar. While similarity creates parallelisms, dissimilarity contributes to contrast. As a result, timbre is the primary element, over pitch, in creating phrase, subsection, section, and form in Continuum I.
