corps étrangers

I wrote corps étranger for the ensemble Mimitabu 2018 but worked on the tape until 2021. This is my third and last sextet with electronics in my suite of fifteen pieces for different formations and electronics. The sextet is the base formation for that suite. It is a Pierrot Lunaire ensemble plus percussion. Since I use the piano as a percussion instrument that gives me two wind instruments: flute and clarinet (in this piece bass clarinet), two percussion instruments: vibraphone and piano, and two string instruments: violin and cello.  The duration is the shortest of the three sextets, around 13 minutes.

The composition work went well and the form, was there / went ahead, without really demanding a clear hi-point as usual. I liked that. The first performances was at the Atalante theatre in Gothenburg, Sweden, October 2018, and the second at the Huddefield Contemporary Music Festival in November the same year.
